About Us
Mississippi Center for Justice is a nonprofit, public-interest law firm committed to advancing racial and economic justice. MCJ operates statewide with offices in Jackson, Gulfport, and Indianola.
At the heart of the Center’s mission to create a just society is a desire to build healthy communities across Mississippi.
By engaging elected officials, faith-based leaders, media, community activists, educators, childcare providers, healthcare professionals, and other advocacy partners, the Mississippi Center for Justice provides the legal perspective to policy initiatives that improve the lives of Mississippians.
MCJ partners with national, regional, and community organizations to develop and implement campaigns that aim to create better futures for low-income Mississippians and communities of color. Our focus areas include educational opportunity, financial security, healthcare, affordable housing, heirs’ property, voting rights, and other vital issues. By championing equality, advocating for the underserved, and creating pathways to opportunity, we empower communities every day.Highlights
