• Biloxi Chamber of Commerce Junior Leadership Graduates Eighteen Ninth Grade Students

    Biloxi, MS - February 9, 2024 - The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the graduation of eighteen ninth-grade students from its esteemed Junior Leadership Program. These students, who either reside in or attend school in the City of Biloxi, have successfully completed a rigorous curriculum designed to cultivate leadership skills and foster community engagement.

    The Biloxi Chamber Junior Leadership Program serves as a bridge for 9th-grade students to various facets of Biloxi, offering invaluable insights into the city's diverse areas while emphasizing the significance of leadership and civic involvement. With its inception three decades ago, the program has continually evolved, reflecting the growth and vibrancy of the Biloxi community and the Gulf Coast region.
    LaWanda Jones, Director of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the program's pivotal role in shaping future leaders, stating, "This program empowers students to envision their future paths and make informed decisions before graduating high school. They are the torchbearers of tomorrow, and to succeed, they must grasp the essence of our city's history, culture, and societal impact."

    Throughout the program, participants engaged in a diverse range of activities, including interactive workshops, community service initiatives, and immersive educational experiences. These experiences not only equipped students with practical leadership skills but also instilled a profound sense of civic responsibility and pride in their community.
