Military One Coast announces 2024 Board and Chair, Nell Schmidt

Military One Coast is pleased to announce Nell Schmidt as the 2024 Military One Coast Chair. Schmidt is an employee of Keesler Federal, where she began in 1997. She worked in Membership and Community Development before accepting the position of Corporate Event Planner, in 2019. 

She became active with the MS Coast Chamber serving on the Pass Christian Chamber and Military One Coast Board and as a Chamber Champion to support their programs of work. She is a Leadership Gulf Coast Graduate (Class of 2016).  

She is a past participant in the Keesler Air Force Base Civic Leader Tour (2006, 2016).  She was a Lighthouse Business and Professional “Women of Achievement” finalist (2017) and Coast Young Professional Forever Young nominee (2015).  Schmidt also was a member of the Public Relations Association of MS (PRAM) and Gulf Coast Symphony Board of Directors.

She and her husband, Frank, of 32 years, live in Pass Christian, MS. They are members of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Pass Christian Yacht Club, and St. Paul Carnival Association. 

She enjoys travel, music festivals, watching the New Orleans Saints (win or lose), cooking, and quality time with family and friends when not working or volunteering. Her advice to others is to practice the pause, be humble, persevere, and be grateful for all you receive.
