The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce Shilah McCollum as the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce Director.
Shilah McCollum is a passionate community leader who believes in the power of connection, service, and strong leadership. A Mississippi Gulf Coast native, she earned her associate’s degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before completing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a Master’s degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi (To the Top!).
Shilah’s career has been shaped by her desire to bring people together and help communities thrive. She most recently served as the Director of Coast Young Professionals (CYP) and Leadership Gulf Coast (LGC), where she worked closely with emerging and established leaders to create meaningful opportunities for growth, learning, and engagement. During her time in this role, she helped expand programming, strengthen community partnerships, and elevate events that connected professionals across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Known for her energy, creativity, and heart for service, Shilah focused on making leadership development feel accessible, welcoming, and impactful. She took pride in building relationships, supporting members at every stage of their journey, and helping CYP and LGC continue to grow as trusted spaces for professional and personal development.
Now stepping into her role as Director of Biloxi, Shilah brings that same people-first approach to serving the city she loves. She is excited to support initiatives that drive progress, strengthen collaboration, and enhance the quality of life for the Biloxi community. With a deep commitment to positive change, Shilah looks forward to making a meaningful and lasting impact in this next chapter.
