    About this opportunity:

    Serves as lead worker to Member Services Associates; trains new staff on applicable software and prepares work schedules to ensure smooth customer services for the RJKCCC.  Sells and/or verifies memberships through the established sales system; provides information and answers questions about available programs/classes. Receives and receipts deliveries and donations, greets and announces visitors and clients, provides general information about The Salvation Army Kroc Center operations and services.  Handles advanced level and escalated customer service-related issues.  

    Key responsibilities:

    • Plans, schedules and assigns work of the Member Services Associates; monitors work to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Assists employees in resolving routine problems; notifies the Public Relations/Membership Director of unique operational or personnel problems.
    • Ensures that members and perspective members of the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center receive prompt and courteous service.
    • Gives tours of the Kroc Center by promoting the center and selling memberships or classes.
    • Handles cash, makes change and operates the established computer software; serves customers, clients and members according to established procedures.
    • Receives and handles incoming telephone calls, visitors and emails in a friendly and professional manner; directs calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner; records accurate and complete messages when needed.
    • Maintains progressive knowledge of all programs and class schedules.
    • Observes and identifies customers, clients and members that may be recommended candidates for scholarship assistance.  Provides assistance for scholarship application process if needed.
    • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the Point of Sale (POS) stations and kiosks. Replenishes supplies, as needed, and advises the Public Relations/Membership Director when supplies should be reordered.
    • Secures the POS area at the open and close of shift.
    • Provides administrative support to include filing, data entry and mailing.
    • Provides back-up support for the other areas as requested.
    • Adheres to Kroc Center operations as well as all policy procedures and observes all safety rules and regulations.
    • Attends and assists in leading staff meetings as assigned.
    • Provides referral information to meet individual and family needs.
    • Maintains the confidentiality of member data.

     

    What we are looking for in you:

    • High school diploma or G.E.D. required and one year of progressively responsible experience as a cashier and/or customer service associate, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to operate a POS system, telephone and/or switchboard. Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to perform routine mathematical computations. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone and a desktop computer. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

    Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
