    Education:                  High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
    Experience:                 Experience with Human Service Work, Education, Counseling Office, Work with Unsheltered Population and/or Service Industry field OR relevant experience. Data entry experience preferred.

    Data entry and documentation of services provided daily.            

    Tasks:                                    
    1. Work in cooperation with other staff and caseworkers at Back Bay Mission (particularly the Micah Day Center) to provide direct assistance to homeless persons through the Mission’s programs and other resources.
    2. Maintain timely and detailed statistics and client case records as required by Back Bay Mission and generate program reports monthly to include impact stories.
    3. Make initial contact with all clients and visitors and direct visitors appropriately.
    4. Initiate the intake process for new clients and enter it into the database system. Create homeless IDs.
    5. Clients assign services, i.e., showers, laundry, computer, clothes closet, etc.
    6. Answer Micah Day’s phone line and take messages if the client is not in the center, monitor phone use during phone use hours, and sort, and hand out mail to the clients.
    7. Participate in other activities of Back Bay Mission as requested and needed.
    8. Assist in laundry and showers.
    9. Distribute towels for shows, toiletries, and personal care.
    10. Operate washer and dryer.
    11. Assist in maintaining the Day Center in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner always.
    12. Accepting clothing and personal care donations.
    13. Organizing, and Managing donations/clothing closet/overflow shed.
    14. Speak to mission groups/campers as needed.
    15. Other tasks assigned by the Director of Client Services.
    Supervision: The Micah Day Center Assistant will primarily report to the Director of Client Services and work in tandem with the Day Center Coordinator.
