    Position Title: Housing Recovery On-Site Supervisor
    Supervisors: Housing Recovery Program Manager

    Position Summary
    The Housing Recovery On-Site Supervisor works directly with volunteers from Churches, Colleges, interns, and youth groups from across the country to assist them in developing light construction skills. Cooperation, patience, and collaboration are all very important.  This position plays a key role in serving individuals and families living in poverty while upholding the Mission’s values of justice, compassion, and responsible stewardship.  Back Bay Mission is a faith-based non-profit organization that works closely with the United Church of Christ and other organizations that align with our goal to seek justice and equity.
    Education:
    High School Diploma or GED required.
    Experience:
    Construction experience required, including familiarity with residential repair, rehabilitation, and basic project management.
    Skills and Personal Characteristics:
    a) A genuine concern for people living in poverty.
    b) Empathy for and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
    c) Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with partner agencies, staff, volunteers, and the public.
    d) Self-starter with the ability to work independently while valuing teamwork and collaboration.
    e) Flexibility, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
    f) Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    g) Ability to lead and work alongside both skilled and unskilled volunteers, including adults and youth groups.

    Responsibilities / Tasks:
    a) Provide on-site construction supervision for volunteer work teams (church groups, university students, youth groups), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and providing hands-on training as needed.
    b) Collaborate with volunteer teams to advance project goals, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow on job sites.
    c) Work with the Housing Recovery Manager and volunteers to assess construction material needs and assist in procurement.
    d) Maintain and update detailed punch lists for each project to ensure continuity as volunteer teams rotate in and out.
    e) Maintain organization, inventory, and upkeep of tools, equipment, and tool trailers along with the Long-term volunteer.
    f) Foster a positive, meaningful, and mission-centered experience for weekly volunteers.
    g) Communicate regularly with the Housing Recovery Program Manager and clients regarding project progress, timelines, and design considerations.
    i) Perform other duties as assigned in support of Back Bay Mission’s housing recovery and neighborhood revitalization efforts.
