    Part Time Case Manager Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), HUD Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids/HIV (HOPWA)

    Position Summary: 
    A Part-Time 16 to 24 hours a week, non-exempt position charged with assisting with the Emergency Solutions Grant, Rapid Re-Housing, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids service programs at Back Bay Mission. These are federally funded programs designed to conduct case management and provide housing stability to the program participants.

    Education:
    A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or social work or related field is required.  

    Experience:
    Two years or more experience case managing clients with a social service agency (public or nonprofit) preferable. 

    Skills/Personal Characteristics: 
    • A genuine concern for people at risk of becoming unsheltered or who are already unsheltered.
    • Empathy for and understanding of problems, limitations, and needs of people facing economic crisis.
    • The ability to effectively manage all activities that involve the arrangement, coordination, monitoring, and delivery of services related to the housing needs of program participants to achieve housing stability.
    • The ability to effectively document within 24 to 48 hours (about 2 days) contacts and service events provided to clients/guests.
    • A willingness and ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors.
    • An ability to effectively communicate and network with other agencies and the public.
    • Flexibility and Patience.
    • Strong Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    Tasks:
    • Maintain a personal network with other social service providers in the community.
    • Attend Continuum of Care (CoC) monthly meetings at Open Doors Homeless Coalition (ODHC).
    • Enroll clients in ESG after verifying and documenting that participants are qualified per grant guidelines.
    • Utilize all ESG-eligible activities: Develop and maintain individual service plans and agreements with unsheltered or at-risk clients who are enrolled in the ESH program. Case management activities may include arrangement, coordination, monitoring, and delivery of services related to meeting the housing needs of the program participants and helping them obtain housing stability.
    • Assess the needs and resources of other at-risk or homeless clients, identify whom we are unable to serve and assist them in accessing other forms of aid for which they may qualify and linking them to other appropriate resources.
    • Work in cooperation with other caseworkers at Back Bay Mission, to provide support and direct assistance to all unsheltered individuals through the other emergency assistance resources.
    • Maintain timely detailed statistics and client case records as required by Back Bay Mission and Mississippi Home Corporation in the Homeless Management Information System
    • Generate program reports monthly, quarterly, and annually, and any reports needed for program compliance.
    • Speak with mission groups/campers as needed.
    • Participate in other activities of Back Bay Mission as directed by supervisor and/or Executive Director. 
    Supervision: The ESG, RRH, and HOPWA Part-Time Case Manager will report to the Director of Client Services and work with the Full-Time Case Manager responsible for the ESG, RRH, and HOPWA programs.
