Sales/Design Consultant
Posted: 06/17/2025Budget Blinds of Mississippi Gulf Coast West & Slidell is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong ability to sell products effectively.
In this role, you will guide customers through the selection, customization, and purchase of window treatments, including various types of blinds, shades, shutters and other interior window treatments. You will provide expert product knowledge, design advice, and personalized service to ensure customers find the ideal solution for their spaces.
Duties
- Meet with customers in their homes or places of business and assist them in identifying their window treatment needs.
- Conduct consultations in-office, in-home, or virtually to provide design recommendations and product guidance.
- Educate customers on the features, benefits, and customization options for window treatments, including fabrics, styles, and control mechanisms.
- Accurately measure windows and ensure precision in specifications.
- Prepare and present quotes and proposals to customers.
- Maintain knowledge of current design trends, product lines, and vendor offerings.
- Process sales transactions and follow through with order fulfillment and installation coordination.
- Build lasting customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Seek out additional customer leads in addition to those provided by the company.
- Meet or exceed sales goals and contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
- Maintain samples in an organized, up-to-date manner.
- Collaborate with vendors, installers, and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction from sale to installation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in custom window treatments, home furnishings, or interior design.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Design sense with the ability to assist customers in choosing products that complement their décor.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with technology (POS systems, CRM, quoting tools, tablets, etc.).
- Must be able to lift samples and occasionally climb ladders for measurements.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, or as scheduled.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn about products and sales techniques.
